FAQs
How do I start the process? Email us at team@clinicfx.co.nz or request your GP to refer you to us. Our team will provide further information and help you register with our clinic.
How long is your waiting list & process? The waiting list can vary but is usually 2-4 weeks. Our process usually takes 2-4 weeks from the first appointment to starting treatment.
Why do I see other providers before being seen and diagnosed by the GP? Our team‑based approach allows each clinician to contribute their specific expertise at different stages of your care. This means important information is gathered thoroughly upfront, so your GP appointment is focused, efficient, and well‑informed. As a result, this approach also helps shorten waiting times and reduce overall costs while maintaining high‑quality care.
What happens after treatment starts? Soon after treatment begins, your care is reviewed and supported by our GP and clinical team. This allows treatment to be adjusted carefully so it remains effective and well tolerated.
How do I request an appointment or prescription? Please contact us at team@clinicfx.co.nz. Please note we request 7 days notice for prescriptions, otherwise an urgency fee may apply.
Do you only offer treatment with medication? Medication is only one part of ADHD care. We also support you with lifestyle strategies, coaching, and therapy where helpful, so care can be tailored to the whole person — not just symptoms.
Will I automatically be prescribed medication? No. Medication is discussed only if ADHD is diagnosed and considered appropriate for you. Treatment decisions are made collaboratively and always take your preferences into account.
What happens if ADHD is not confirmed? If ADHD is not diagnosed, we will discuss this with you clearly and respectfully. We can help you understand what may be contributing to your difficulties and discuss appropriate next steps, treatment or support options.
Will my regular GP be kept informed? With your consent, we can share relevant information with your regular GP to support continuity of care, especially for long‑term management.
What does your process cost? Please see our fees page. We have enabled our teams-based approach to reduce costs, but as a private clinic, we do not receive any government funding.
